One that carves a smile

#1. Today I walked by the Engineering rooms closely for the first time, and was reminded why I'm studying the course I'm studying.

#2. Got a full mark again for EAS230. God is great.

#3. The piece which made my mom, dear 'aunt', and 33 year old apartment mate tear up. And to top it off, this comment from my lecturer:

"Ikhsan,

Wow! What a first draft. Great work.
Check the marginal comments for revision suggestions.
Try to avoid wordy sentences. They take away the power of your writing. Tighten up the intro a little more. Give the essay a little more rhetorical flourish. But overall, great draft."

Sources of happiness come from very unexpected places.

Hoping for a better tonight than the last one.

Having said that, God has blessed me with so many things thus far. I can't complain. I will not complain.

p.s and I am grateful for you peeps back home, for everything. Miss yea guys =)

Embarassing

Started on a subtle Sunday night when I got a call from the captain. They needed a keeper and that was my chance to prove myself and get into a top team.

And I FU**ing screwed it up.

And to top it off I'm sure I made myself into a laughing stock in front of them.

And I thought last week was a one off. That was 2 straight bad weeks.

I am just so fu**ing pissed with myself

ugh. What the fu** is wrong with me?!

p.s Maybe I should just quit playing all together. Maybe I just suck balls at it.

Moving on

I have always wanted to blog in the sky.....

...and I am doing so now.

I am writing all this from the back of the very back of the plane where I'm seated.

My destination? A place they call Mad town. Reason? To rekindle old friendships.
I have to say the view outside is simply breathtaking. It's 6.40pm local time and I can see the sunset
clearly from the window. I've seen sunsets all my life, but never from the sky. All I can say is that it's beatiful.

Which gives me time to ponder upon my first 2 months here in the United States of America.

I am finally here.

My first month was exciting. A new university, new faces, new cultures, and new things to play with.  Everything was new to me. I had to do my own laundry, pay my own rent, pay my own electricity, cook on my own, and the worst part……clean up on my own. Ugh.

I could bore you with numerous other things that happened so I’ll just keep em short.
You know what….I think I’ll save it up for later.
Because now I type this as I am about to leave this one week of joy and head back home to Buffalo.
I’ll leave my Spring break for later as well…..because it’s not quite yet over.
There is still a bit more left for me to do.
Like cook for some people, 2 of which are very special people, and one who is very dear to me.

Till then.

p.s Hello Ikhsan 7.0. Why 7? Because I grew so much in just these past 7 days. No kidding.
